Policy on Dealing with Allegations of Research Misconduct

Research Misconduct

The Global Journal of Dental Specialty (GJDS) is committed to maintaining the highest standards of research integrity and publication ethics. The journal follows the recommendations of the Committee on Publication Ethics (COPE), the International Committee of Medical Journal Editors (ICMJE), and the COPE Flowcharts when investigating allegations of research or publication misconduct.

Authors are expected to:

  • Read and comply with the journal's Author Guidelines and Publication Ethics Policy.

  • Submit original and ethically conducted research.

  • Provide accurate and complete research data.

  • Cooperate fully with any editorial investigation.

Investigation Process

All allegations of research misconduct are assessed fairly, confidentially, and objectively. The Editorial Office may request original data, ethics approval documents, informed consent forms, or other supporting evidence to verify the integrity of the submitted work.

The journal investigates allegations including:

  • Plagiarism and duplicate publication.

  • Data fabrication or falsification.

  • Image manipulation.

  • Authorship disputes.

  • Citation manipulation.

  • Undisclosed conflicts of interest.

  • Unethical research practices.

Editorial Responsibility

Where misconduct is confirmed, the journal may reject the manuscript, publish a correction or retraction, issue an Expression of Concern, or notify the relevant institution or funding agency where appropriate. All investigations are conducted in accordance with the COPE Flowcharts and ethical guidance available at:
