Human and Animal Rights Policy

Research Involving Human Participants

The Global Journal of Dental Specialty (GJDS) follows the ethical recommendations of the International Committee of Medical Journal Editors (ICMJE), the Committee on Publication Ethics (COPE), and the Declaration of Helsinki. Research involving human participants must receive prior approval from an appropriate Institutional Review Board (IRB) or Ethics Committee, and informed consent must be obtained where applicable.

Authors should ensure that:

  • Ethical approval has been obtained before the study begins.

  • Written informed consent has been obtained where required.

  • Participant privacy and confidentiality are fully protected.

  • Identifiable information is published only with appropriate consent.

Research Involving Animals

Research involving animals must comply with internationally accepted guidelines for the ethical care and use of laboratory animals. Authors are expected to minimize animal suffering and obtain approval from the relevant ethics committee before conducting the study.

Authors should ensure that:

  • Animal ethics approval has been obtained.

  • National and institutional animal welfare regulations are followed.

  • Humane care and ethical treatment of animals are maintained.

Editorial Responsibility

The Editorial Office may request supporting ethical documentation during the review process to verify compliance. Manuscripts that do not meet the ethical standards recommended by COPE and ICMJE may be rejected or returned for clarification before further consideration.
