Authorship Criteria

The Global Journal of Dental Specialty (GJDS) follows the authorship recommendations of the International Committee of Medical Journal Editors (ICMJE) and the Committee on Publication Ethics (COPE). Authorship should be limited to individuals who have made substantial intellectual contributions to the research and who accept responsibility for the accuracy and integrity of the published work.

Authors must:

• Make a significant contribution to the research.

• Participate in drafting or critically revising the manuscript.

• Approve the final version before submission.

• Accept accountability for the published work.

Contributorship

Individuals who contribute to a study but do not meet the criteria for authorship should be acknowledged appropriately in the Acknowledgements section with their permission.

Examples of contributorship include:

• Technical or laboratory assistance.

• Statistical or data analysis support.

• Language editing or proofreading.

• Administrative or project support.

• Funding acquisition.

Changes in Authorship

Any request to add, remove, or rearrange authors after manuscript submission must be submitted to the Editorial Office with a written explanation and the consent of all authors. Such requests will be evaluated in accordance with COPE and ICMJE recommendations.

Editorial Responsibility

The journal does not accept guest, honorary, gift, or ghost authorship. Suspected authorship disputes or misconduct will be investigated according to COPE and ICMJE guidance, and appropriate editorial action may be taken where necessary.
