Abstract

The rapid advancement of Artificial Intelligence (AI) technologies is transforming educational systems worldwide. AI-powered tools such as intelligent tutoring systems, adaptive learning platforms, automated assessment systems, learning analytics, and generative AI applications are increasingly being integrated into teaching and learning environments. However, the successful implementation of AI in education depends largely on teacher readiness. Teacher readiness encompasses technological competence, pedagogical knowledge, attitudes toward AI, ethical awareness, and institutional support. This study investigates teacher readiness for AI integration in education through a systematic review of contemporary literature published between 2019 and 2026. The findings indicate that while educators generally recognize the potential benefits of AI in enhancing teaching effectiveness and student learning outcomes, significant challenges remain, including limited AI literacy, insufficient professional development, ethical concerns, and inadequate infrastructure. The study concludes that comprehensive teacher training programs, supportive policies, and strategic institutional investments are essential for preparing educators to effectively integrate AI into educational practice.
