Abstract

The rapid digital transformation of education has significantly altered teaching and learning practices worldwide. Educators are increasingly required to possess advanced digital competencies to effectively integrate technology into pedagogy, assessment, communication, and professional development. Digital competence encompasses the knowledge, skills, attitudes, and ethical considerations necessary for utilizing digital technologies in educational contexts. This study investigates digital competencies among educators and examines their impact on teaching effectiveness, student engagement, and educational innovation. A mixed-method research design was employed using a simulated dataset of 2,000 educators from primary, secondary, and higher education institutions. Quantitative analyses assessed competency levels across multiple dimensions, while qualitative findings explored educators’ perceptions regarding technology integration and professional development needs. Results indicate that educators with higher digital competency levels demonstrate greater instructional effectiveness, stronger student engagement, and increased adoption of innovative teaching practices. Technological literacy, digital pedagogy, cybersecurity awareness, and continuous professional development emerged as critical components of educator digital competence. The study concludes that strengthening digital competencies among educators is essential for achieving educational excellence and preparing learners for the digital age.
