Abstract

Background

Artificial Intelligence (AI) is transforming educational systems by enabling personalized learning environments that adapt to individual learner needs, preferences, and performance levels. AI-driven technologies support customized instruction, intelligent tutoring, adaptive assessments, and predictive learning analytics.

Objective

This study evaluates the role of artificial intelligence in personalized learning environments and examines its impact on student engagement, academic performance, learning satisfaction, and educational outcomes.

Methods

A cross-sectional analytical study was conducted among 1,500 students and educators from higher education institutions utilizing AI-supported learning platforms. Data were collected through structured questionnaires and learning analytics reports. Descriptive statistics, chi-square tests, and logistic regression analyses were performed.

Results

Approximately 84.6% of participants reported positive experiences with AI-based personalized learning systems. Students using adaptive learning platforms demonstrated improved academic performance (78.2%), increased engagement (81.4%), and higher learning satisfaction (79.8%). Significant predictors of successful implementation included digital literacy, institutional support, and availability of technological infrastructure.

Conclusion

Artificial intelligence significantly enhances personalized learning by improving learner engagement, educational efficiency, and academic outcomes. Strategic implementation, ethical governance, and educator training are critical for sustainable integration.
